Patient Referral Requirements

Patient Referral Requirements In order for our doctors to see new patents at the appropriate time and with the Dermatologist who specializes in the particular skin condition of concern, a written doctors' referral is required before we can make an appointment. A referral from your General Practitioner is valid for 12 months, or three months if it is from a specialist.

The referral also enables patients to claim some services back from Medicare. Within the referral, details of the doctors concerns, patients contact numbers and any additional required information needed to help manage the skin problem should be provided. If you require any further assistance about our referral policy please feel free to contact us either by telephoning or emailing our clinic.

Fees & Billing Information

Our billing policy ensures appropriate costs are covered for procedures.
As a not‐for‐profit organisation we strive to structure our fees so as to provide the most cost effective payment options for all patients.

DVA patients

No out of-pocket payments are required as this is covered by government funding.

Public patients

No out of pocket expenses for minor operation procedures (referred from the Princess Alexandra Hospital)

Private patients

There is an out of-pocket fee, however, for most procedures patients can claim this cost back through Medicare.
